Director
Su Gilroy

Picture
Su worked in television and variety before turning to theatre in 1988, and she has worked in several fields, including acting, stage management, wardrobe and front of house. These have involved her in many forms of theatre, from TIE and community theatre through provincial and touring theatre to West End, in many types of performance, from devised work through pantomime and rep to classics, and in places as far apart as Aberdeen and Lake Worth, Florida. She has directed over 20 productions in weekly rep, two plays on the London fringe: Pink at The White Bear and Painted Warriors at The Tabard Theatre, two plays for the Brighton Festival: Unclouded Moon in 2014 and Sex in Shorts in 2015, and two school tours: Aladdin and Recycling Roadshow. She has worked extensively with young people, and has directed many youth productions, both in this country and in America. She was also Assistant Director on three rep productions, Cinderella at the Lyceum Theatre in Crewe and several pantomimes and Shakespeare productions for young people for Bitesize Theatre Company. She has an MA in Theatre and Performance Studies and is delighted to be working with Goblin Baby Theatre Company.

Alisa James

Picture
Alisa is a designer, actor and director. She holds a BA (Hons) in Theatre Design for Performance from Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design. She also trained at the Acting Conservatory, William Esper Studio, and was  an Artist in Residence, as a theatre director, at The Muse Brooklyn Circus Studio and Performance Space. Design credits include Don Giovanni, The Maids, Oedipus Rex, The Tempest and Macbeth. Alisa has also produced ten cabaret shows including Burly Underland, Return to Underland, Jazz in Underland, Scary Tales, Flamingo Night, Magic... And more to come!

Gregory Jordan

Greg is a Lighting Designer and Technician, and has a BA (Hons) in Lighting Design from Rose Bruford College. He has worked in a variety of theatrical productions, from musical theatre and pantomime to plays, dance and installations. Design credits include Much Ado About Nothing (BATS), Muscovado UK Tour (BurntOut Theatre), The Wizard of Oz (BATS), Anything Goes (KD Theatre), Jack & the Beanstalk (KD Theatre), Everything's Elsewhere (ThisEgg), Always Looking for More (Del Toro School of Dance) and 42nd Street (KD Theatre). Greg has also been involved in a number of other roles, such as Followspot Operator (The Phantom of the Opera, Really Useful Group), Lighting Assistant and Video Designer (Les Misérables, Greenfield Community College) and Lighting Programmer (Accolade, Nicola Seed Productions).

Tessa Hart

Actress, director and prodcuer as well as the Artistic Director of Goblin Baby Theatre Co and The Bread & Roses Theatre, Tessa holds an MFA in Acting (International) from East 15 Acting School (2011) and a BA in Theatre Studies from the Free University of Berlin (2009). She has completed further performing arts work and training in Bali, London, Berlin, Brussels and Moscow and is fluent, as well as having worked, in English, German and French. Tessa has worked in children's theatre on-stage and backstage and also has experience in tutoring and running drama workshops for children. Theatre acting credits include The Vagina Monologues (Bread & Roses Theatre), The Devil & Stepashka (The Space), Little Red Hoodie (Hen & Chickens Theatre), Young Gifted & Black-hearted (Jamboree), I Chose You (John Thaw Studio) and The Second Shepherd's Play (New Diorama Theatre) . She has also appeared in independent feature films, short films, TV-series, commercials and various other screen projects. Most recently Tessa directed a 5-star-reviewed adaptation of Miss Julie as well as a sold-out benefit production of The Vagina Monologues and produced the second instalment of the UNHEARD Festival.

(Step-) Mama
Janette Froud

Picture
Janette trained at the Bush Davies School before dancing in ballet companies in Germany. She then performed in musicals in the West End, repertory theatre, national and international tours. Productions include: Cats, Oklahoma! Annie Get Your Gun, Guys and Dolls, Rogers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella and Me and My Girl. She has also appeared as an actor in over sixty plays in weekly repertory theatre in Sidmouth. Productions include: Private Lives, An Inspector Calls, My Cousin Rachel, See How They Run and The Norman Conquests. Other favourite acting credits include playing Mrs Durrell in My Family and Other Animals (Channel Islands/Corfu) and performing in three theatre-in-education tours for Jersey Arts Centre. Janette also works as a theatre director. She directed Airswimming (RADA Studios, London,) for Glassy Essence and was acting coach on the art film The Childe of Hale (The Bluecoat, Liverpool/National Film Theatre). She directed Me and My Dad for the 10-10-10 Festival at Intermission Theatre, London (2015). Janette has an MA in Performance Making from Goldsmiths College. She works regularly as a drama teacher and has also programmed the 10th Human Rights Film Festival for Jersey Arts Centre (2014). She co-runs Nightshade Theatre Company in East Devon (established in 2006) and has directed and co-produced all of its nine productions.

Lydia Lane

Lydia is a London based actress originally from Athens, Greece. She moved to London in 2009 to do her MA in Acting at East 15 Acting School and since graduating she has been working constantly in theatre, film/tv and voice overs. Between 2012-2014 she was actively involved with the acclaimed Short Cuts Festival starting at the Tristan Bates Theatre and then moving to the Hen and Chickens. Theatre credits include: Welcome to England (Bread & Roses), The Devil and Stepashka (The Space), The Enchantress in As if by a Stair (The Space), Last Man in Watford (Southwark Playhouse), Nothing: A Tale of Two Zeros (Old Red Lion), Under The Skin (Tristan Bates/Hen and Chickens), Agamemnon (Courtyard Theatre), Cleopatra (Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre), Brecht's Jewish Wife, T. Williams' Willie in This property is Condemned, Nurse in Romeo and Juliet. Film roles include the leads for the short films ‘Jean & Jean' 'Alive' and for the documentary 'Happiness'. She is an active supporter of Eve Ensler's humanist work and she is very happy to be involved with Goblin Baby.  Lydia always had a great desire to perform theatre for children. This is her first participation in a children’s theatre production and she is very excited about that!

Andrew Candish

Andrew Candish has just graduated from Drama Studio London where he played all sorts of things from a milkman to a property developer, and a solicitor to a king. He’s very much looking forward to performing in CinderElla.

Rebecca Pryle

Rebecca, Managing Director of The Bread & Roses Theatre, graduated with a BA Hons in Drama before training as an actress at the Maggie Flanigan Studio in New York on a two year Meisner Conservatory program. After completing her training she returned home to London where she went on to co-found the Bread and Roses Theatre and Company as well as the Improv group '4Play', which has performed around the country, including performances at the Glastonbury Festival. Besides short films and voice over work, Rebecca's latest acting credits include Everything's Normal at the UNHEARD Festival and a rehearsed reading of The Vagina Monologues. She has also produced and performed in nearly all 8 of BRTC’s new writing nights, The Platform. Most recently she played the eponymous lead role in a five-star-reviewed production of Miss Julie.
