Burn After Reading (aka BAR or BARPo) is a community of early career poets and writers founded and supported by Jacob Sam-La Rose and Jasmine Cooray, in London. We represent and appreciate a diverse range of poetics from "spoken word" to "page" and points in between. We write, we read, we perform, we publish— as widely as possible. We celebrate the importance of understanding craft, and of investing in our immediate and wider communities.

UNHEARD is a unique new writing festival exploring themes around sexual abuse and violence. The Festival will feature scratch performances of new short plays, rehearsed readings of new one-act and full length plays as well as a spoken word event and a one-woman-show. Furthermore, UNHEARD will also be presented in combination with three V-Day benefit performances of The Vagina Monologues.
