Joe Allan
Director of The Proposal

Joe studied BSc (Hons) Drama & Psychology at the University of the West of England, Bristol. He is currently Artistic Director of Closing the Gap Theatre Company which works mainly on devised, experiential theatre. His main interests lie in absurd theatre.Since moving to London In 2013 he has assisted at the Spill Festival 2013 and at a number of promenade performances with The Performer Project at The Albert Centre, London. Joe is a member of the Young Vic Directors Program. When not in the theatre, Joe can be found travelling the world or sitting in a field at a festival.

Director of To Be a Wife / Producer

Tessa is a producer, director and actress as well as the artistic director of Goblin Baby. She holds an MFA in Acting (International) from East 15 Acting School (2011) and a BA in Theatre Studies from the Free University of Berlin (2009) and has completed further performing arts work and training in Bali, London, Berlin, Brussels and Moscow. Tessa has worked at fringe venues across London and, besides the work with Goblin Baby, co-runs The Bread & Roses Theatre and is a co-founder of the in-house Bread & Roses Theatre Company as well as an associate director of Little Pieces of Gold.

Michael graduated from East 15 having studied Acting for TV, Film and Radio. Previous work includes Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde (Union Theatre),Measure for Measure and The Trial of Mary Antoinette (both Courtyard Theatre), Compass in Jonson’s The Magnetic Lady (The White Bear), Gary in Go Be With Your Sister for Ugly Sisters Productions (Southwark Playhouse) and Oberon in A Midsummer Night’s Dream for Lazarus (Blue Elephant). To Be A Wife is Michaels second successful collaboration with Goblin Baby and he is looking forward to being back at the Hen & Chickens.

Abigail graduated from Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts last year, where she had the opportunity to play some fantastic roles, including Abigail in The Crucible and Helena in All's Well That Ends Well. Upon leaving she went straight on to tour with Solomon Theatre Company, as well as appearing in various short films, and having the opportunity to perform at St. James Theatre in an award-winning play. Abigail is also a voice over artist with Wise Buddah.

Cam trained with the National Youth Theatre. She recently graduated from Edinburgh University where, whilst studying for her Philosophy MA,  she performed with a variety of professional theatre companies. Theatre credits include: Viola in TWELFTH NIGHT (Whistlestop Theatre London), Hedda Gabbler in HEDDA GABLER (Hailstone Productions), Helena in A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM (Alpha Centauri Theatre Company), Una in BLACKBIRD and Joseph Surface in A SCHOOL FOR SCANDAL (Et Al Theatre Company).

Writer of To Be a Wife

Tilly Lunken studied Creative Writing/ Theatre studies at the University of Melbourne (First Class Honours) and MA in Creative Writing Scriptwriting (Distinction) from the University of East Anglia where she was the 2012 recipient of the Malcolm Bradbury Development Award. In 2013, completed Royal Court Young Writer’s Program and was also mentored through the Garage Theatre. This year she’s had The Snow White Complex performed with Goblin Baby (The Space; Hen and Chickens); Mint Leaves independently produced (Hen and Chickens); and Christmas Lunch written and performed with the Menagerie Young Writer’s Program (Cambridge Junction). She is currently writing To Be a Wife for Goblin Baby; Fated for Little Angel Theatre HATCH festival; and Beauty and the Beast for Norwich Puppet Theatre.
