We are now accepting submissions for the UNHEARD Focus Festival exploring themes around sexual abuse and violence. We accept script submissions (for which we will find a cast and director) as well as proposals with a team already attached. Selected submissions will receive one performance or rehearsed reading between 19th and 22nd of February at The Bread & Roses Theatre in Clapham (South London). Click here for more details and to submit a proposal. In only our second year, we're thrilled and proud to be looking back at 5 productions throughout 2014 and thought we'd take a look at what we've been up to throughout the year! We kicked off the year straight away in January with RETOLD - A Fairytale Festival... without the happily ever after, which ran for a week each at The Space as well as The Hen & Chickens Theatre and following which we were invited to become a resident company at the latter.
We then returned The Space twice in a row. First with a sell-out one-night-only benefit production of The Vagina Monologues in March, followed by our first full Off-Westend run of a full-length play The Devil & Stepashka in June, which transferred to Ye Olde Rose & Crown Theatre in July. We then returned to The Hen & Chickens Theatre with two more productions. In August, as part of the Camden Fringe, we presented FORESEEN - Four post-apocalyptic new short plays and we ended our 2014 season at the venue with The Proposal / To Be a Wife - Two same-sex marriage comedies in October. So after 5 successful productions this year, our 2014 production season is now over. But do not fear we've got lots of exciting things in planning for 2015, and a little preview will already be shown in a rehearsed reading this December. So stay tuned for further details to be announced shortly! We had great opening night and second night of The Proposal / To Be a Wife already! Now we've also got some fabulous production stills taken by the lovely photographer Victorine Brown available in our gallery. Check them out for a little preview and make sure to come along to one of the remaining four performances this week only at The Hen & Chickens Theatre! With only two days to go until The Proposal / To Be a Wife opens at The Hen & Chickens we have already shared some sneak previews from rehearsals in a facebook album. Performances are 7th to 11th October, so check out some previews of what you can expect from our two same-sex marriage comedies and then book your tickets asap! Only 10 days until The Proposal / To Be a Wife opens at The Hen & Chickens Theatre. It will run October 7th to 11th at 7.30pm, with a Saturday matinée at 3pm. We take a Chekhov piece and turn it into a same-sex marriage comedy! Plus, we've got a brand new play about equal marriage by Tilly Lunken. This will be Goblin Baby's last production in the year 2014 and tickets are already selling, so don't miss out and book yours! More details on dates, plays, and people involved available here. We're thrilled to announce the complete line-up of our cast and team for our next project
The Proposal / To Be a Wife - Two same-sex marriage comedies! Directors will be Joe Allan (artistic director of Closing the Gap) and our own artistic director Tessa Hart. Besides an adaptation of Anton Chekhov's farce The Proposal our associate writer Tilly Lunken is contributing a brand new comedy about same-sex marriage called To Be a Wife. Michael Bagwell, previously seen in our Camden Fringe show FORESEEN, and Rus Kallan, previously seen in our spring/summer production The Devil & Stepashka: The Verdict is Yours, are returning and will perform alongside the rest of our fabulous cast Stephanie Lodge, Abigail Morgan, Cam Spence and Alice K Brown. Venus Raven, who worked on FORESEEN as well, is also returning as our Sound & Light Operator. More details on the productions cast and crew are available here. The Proposal / To Be a Wife will run from Tuesday 7th to Saturday 11th October 2014 at The Hen & Chickens Theatre. Tickets are now already on sale for our next show: The Proposal / To Be a Wife - Two same-sex marriage comedies. Performances will be 7th to 11th October at 7.30pm at The Hen & Chickens Theatre, with a Saturday matinée on the 11th at 3pm. Tickets cost £9 plus a £1.12 booking fee online or £10 on the door, so there is no major difference in the cost for online tickets. You can book via ticketweb.co.uk. FORESEEN opens tonight! You can check out some pictures from our rehearsal in our facebook album. Performances of our post-apocalyptic new short plays are Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th August at 6pm at The Hen & Chickens Theatre as part of the Camden Fringe. More details are available on our website. And tickets via the Camden Fringe website. Hope to see you there! |
